What Is the Newest Galaxy Phone Out Now?

If you’re looking for a new mobile device, a Galaxy phone won’t disappoint. Known for their impeccable design and vast capabilities, these phones offer the best of both worlds. And with numerous models across several series, everyone can find what they need – and much more.

What Is the Newest Galaxy Phone Out Now?

As Samsung is constantly releasing new models, it can be difficult to know which are the newest on the market. Let’s look at the latest Galaxy phones in each series.

Newest Galaxy Phones

You don’t have to flip far back on the calendar to find the latest Galaxy phones. Most series got an upgrade in the first quarter of 2022.

Galaxy S Series

Samsung introduced the newest members of the flagship S series in February 2022. They include the Galaxy S22, the slightly larger but similar-looking S22+, and the premium S22 Ultra. If you’re looking for the best of the best, you may not need to search much further. All three models are 5G-compatible and come in four gorgeous muted colors.

The Galaxy S22 and S22+ models are equipped with up to 256 GB of storage space, 8 GB of RAM, and a powerful battery of 3700 and 4500mAh, respectively. Those who prefer a larger screen size can opt for the S22+, with a display that measures 6.6 inches. If you prefer smaller devices, the S22’s 6.1-inch display will suffice. Both devices have three rear cameras that produce 50-MP images and a front camera that produces 10-MP images.

The S22 Ultra elevates all this to a new level. With 512 GB storage and a 12GB RAM option, you’ll have a powerful device in your hands. There’s even a 1-TB version available. The S22 Ultra also has a 5000mAh battery – a slight upgrade from the S22+. Another feature that makes the S22 Ultra a clear leader is its upgraded camera. A 108-MP back and a 40-MP front camera produce crisp images in any conditions. The S22 Ultra also has S Pen support.

Galaxy Z Series

Next in line are the innovative foldable models of the Galaxy family – the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and the Galaxy Z Flip 3. The latter is available in a Bespoke Edition as well. All three were released in August 2021.

Those who appreciate a compact design will love the Flip 3’s practicality. It closes like a compact mirror and fits snugly in your pocket. For a large workspace, you can look into the Fold 3 model that opens up like a notebook. Both models have an outer display and come in three unique colors. If none of the shades catches your eye, the Flip 3 Bespoke Edition allows you to create your own color combination.

The Fold 3 boasts better specs than the Flip 3 in terms of storage space, RAM, and battery capacity. In addition, it supports the S Pen. However, think twice before getting these models if you still use wired headphones. Neither the Flip 3 nor the Fold 3 has a 3.5 mm audio jack, though an adapter can help you get over this issue.

Galaxy A Series

Samsung’s mid-range A series caters to a wide audience. The newest Galaxy A73 5G, A53 5G, and A33 5G models debuted in March 2022.

The three models are quite similar. They come in various memory configurations, from 128 GB / 4GB RAM to 256 GB / 8 GB RAM, and a capacious 5000mAh battery. The most powerful of the bunch is the A73 5G, which comes with at least 6 GB of RAM. It also has an upgraded chip and superior cameras.

As you can see, the RAM capacities of these mid-range models are more modest. However, they still excel for everyday use. Unfortunately, none of these models have a 3.5 mm headphone jack. As mentioned, an adapter can remedy this issue.

In addition to these three models, you’ll also find the A13 5G and the A23 5G in stores, released the same month.

Galaxy M Series

Samsung also introduced a few new models to its most affordable range in spring 2022. The Galaxy M53 5G, the M33 5G, and the M23 5G went on sale in April 2022. Each comes in three colors.

Even with these affordable models, you can’t go wrong. They boast a 5000mAh battery that can even withstand hours of gaming. All three models feature fast charging as well. The M53 5G and the M33 5G offer up to 8 GB of RAM, so your device won’t lag as you switch between tasks. The M53 5G is slightly superior with its 108MP rear and 32 MP front cameras.

Note that the M23 and the M33 models have a 3.5 mm audio jack, while the M53 lacks this feature.

Previous Galaxy Phones

Samsung frequently releases new models, but that means their previous models no longer measure up. Here’s the previous model of each category and what you can expect from it.

Galaxy Note Series

The Galaxy Note 20 and the Note 20 Ultra were introduced in August 2020 with no upgrade since. Nevertheless, they still stand their ground. Both models come in three lovely shades and with 256 GB of storage.

Being Samsung’s “phablet” line, these models were designed for note-taking. You can easily draw and write on these devices with a spacious display and S Pen support. The most notable differences are in the weight and cameras. The Galaxy Note 20, with a plastic back, feels lighter in your hands than the metal of the Note 20 Ultra. The latter also has a more capable camera.

Today, the Galaxy S22 Ultra has stepped into the Note 20 Ultra’s spot, with a similar look and capacities.

Galaxy S Series

The previous editions of the flagship series, the S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra, came out at the beginning of 2021. Like the S22 series, they have varying specs. What’s consistent is a powerful performance. However, if you’re looking for the essentials in one compact device, the Galaxy S21 Fan Edition is also a solid choice.

Galaxy Z Series

The previous generation of the Galaxy Flip and Galaxy Fold date back to fall 2020. The Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G and the Galaxy Z Flip 5G are similar to their current models, only with a few lower specs. The newer Fold offers better storage and RAM options. The Flip 3 also offers an upgraded outer display than the original Flip.

Galaxy A Series

The Galaxy A13 5G is by no means outdated with its late 2021 release. With a 6.6-inch screen, it’s a great middle-ground. You won’t be disappointed by the 50 MP back camera either. The A13 5G also has a standard audio jack, which is a feature missing from many newer models.

Galaxy M Series

The Galaxy M52 5G, released in October 2021, is also still a solid choice. A 6.7-inch display and a 64 MP rear camera ensure a great experience. With up to 8 GB RAM, this model is still a notable contender.
