When Disney first announced the devices that will support its streaming service, Amazon users were left disappointed. Although Amazon runs a variation of the Android operating system, it has a different app store.
Since all Amazon devices were left off the supported list, Amazon users thought they wouldn’t be able to join in the fun.
However, these reports were quashed recently, and Disney+ announced support for Amazon’s devices. This includes Fire TV and Fire tablets. This article will explain how to install Disney+ on a Kindle Fire.
Get Started By Signing Up
Before you start streaming your favorite Disney movies on Disney Plus, you’ll need to get signed up for an account. Start by signing up here for a free week trial, or get your favorite movies, shows, and sports for one low price by bundling Disney Plus, Hulu, and ESPN Plus right here!
Getting Disney+ App from the App Store
Since the Disney+ app is available on the FireOS app store, getting it on any FireOS device shouldn’t be a problem. There are two ways to get the app on your Kindle Fire – directly from the device, or from your web browser. Let’s cover both methods.
Download the Disney+ App Directly from Kindle Fire
You can access the app store directly from your Kindle Fire Device and download the app from there. Here’s what you should do:
- Turn on your Kindle tablet.
- Tap the Home tab at the top of the screen.
- Select the Appstore from the list of apps.
- Tap the search icon at the top-right of the screen.
- Start typing ’Disney Plus’ until the device suggests the app.
- Select the app to open the menu.
- Tap Download to download the app on your device.
The app will appear on your home screen among other apps that you have on your phone. Simply tap the Disney+ icon to launch the app and that’s it.
Download the Disney+ app from Amazon Website
There’s another way to download Disney+ app – from Amazon’s website. You’ll need to access your web browser (either from PC or a smartphone) and then do the following:
- Go to Amazon’s official website.
- Search for the Disney+
- Sign in to your Amazon account (if you haven’t already). You should sign-in with the same account that you use with your Fire tablet.
- Press the drop-down menu under the ’Deliver To’ section.
- Select your Fire tablet from the list.
- Select Deliver
This will ’push’ the app directly to your device. The next time your Fire tablet is connected to the internet, it will automatically download the Disney+ app and it will appear on the app menu. Just open the app as usual and it should work.
Using Disney+ with Kindle Fire
To use the Disney+ with your Kindle Fire, you need to make a Disney+ account and subscribe to the service first. To do so, just visit the Disney+ website and select either the ‘Try Now’ button to the left or ‘Log In’ to the right.
When you finish the sign-up process and sign in to the account, you can log in to the service from any device, including your Kindle Fire. Thanks to the additional gadgets such as Amazon Echo, you can use both voice commands or access the app manually.
Manually Launch the App
Launching the app manually should be a fairly simple process.
- Turn on your Kindle Fire tablet.
- Tap the ‘Home’ tab at the top of the screen.
- Find the Disney+ app among the list of apps on the screen.
- Enter your credentials to sign in to your account.
The app should have the same interface as Android tablets. You can browse the service to find the movies and TV shows that you want. Then tap at the desired media that you want to stream, and press the ‘Play’ button.
Use Voice Commands
If you own Alexa voice remote or an Echo device, you can use a voice assistant to launch your Disney+ app.
To open the app just say: “Alexa, open Disney+” and your Fire Tablet should automatically launch the app.
What’s more, Alexa is compatible with all the content inside the app. So if you say: “Alexa, play Avengers: Endgame” the app will automatically play the movie.
Furthermore, you can search the content with your voice, too. For example, you can say: “Alexa, find Star Wars movies” and the app will list all the Star Wars movies that are available on the service.
Disney+ Anywhere, Anytime
The most convenient thing about Fire tablet is that you may carry it anywhere with you.
You can stream a new episode of “Mandalorian” from a restaurant or a café, or start watching a new Marvel show while you’re waiting for your bus. Thanks to the official Fire TV support, you can use the same Amazon and Disney account to stream everything from the big screen too.
