How To Appear Offline in Epic Games on a PC
Unfortunately, Epic Games PC does not allow users to set their status to “Offline.” You only have “Online” or “Away” available. While some players can make do with the “Away” status, many need a more robust solution.

You can play your games offline, and they will sync when you reconnect to the internet. However, remember that many games will not have all features when played offline. If you need those additional features, you must play online with your status set to “Away.”
Sign Out of the Launcher
You can still access your games if you play without being signed in. You won’t be able to save any progress to Epic Games until you sign back in. This may not be an issue for some games, but many multiplayer games may not be able to function. To sign out of the Epic Games launcher:

Unlike Epic Games on PC, your online status is controlled by the console, not the game or the game platform. This means that when you set your PS4 to appear offline, it will do so in all your online games, not just Rocket League.

- Launch your PS4 and go to the main screen.
- Go to your profile page and find the “Set Online Status” box.
- Move your selection over the box to receive a prompt to change the status.
- When the prompt appears, select “Appear Offline.”
You can play your game as you normally would. Since the “Appear Offline” status does not affect your connection, you can still access the entire gameplay. Also, remember that you can still be seen on the game map for multiplayer games. This feature doesn’t turn you invisible to other players; you only appear offline in the chat.

Xbox is similar to PS4 because the console controls your status, not Rocket League or Epic Games. Your status is set at the console level, so you will appear offline in every game until you change it back to “Appear Online.”

- Go to the main screen of your console.
- Navigate to your profile picture and click “A.”
- Click “A” again to open your profile.

Unlike games like Fortnite, Rocket League does not allow you to set your status to “Appear Offline.” If you wish to appear offline and play Rocket League on your computer, you will have to take Epic Games offline and play without access to the internet. You can follow the steps below to enable offline mode browsing in Epic Games for both PC and Mac.
- Download the Epic Games desktop application and log in.
- Click on your profile picture.
- Go to the app’s settings and toggle the switch next to “Enable Offline Mode Browsing.”
- Disconnect your PC from the internet and then close the Epic Games app.
- Restart the computer and open Epic Games. You will be taken to your offline library after you log in.
- Find and launch Rocket League.
Remember that this requires you to take your computer offline. Not only will Epic Games lose the ability to sync to the internet, but so will any of your other applications. This could also prevent the game from functioning correctly. For some games, you may be able to continue playing but may lose access to certain features while offline.
