Get 2GB extra Google Drive storage for free

Today, 9 February 2016, is Safer Internet Day. So, while you’re busy practising safe internet, why not grab yourself an extra 2GB of Google Drive storage in the process. And yes, if you grabbed the 2GB of free storage that Google gave away on last year’s Safer Internet Day, today’s bonus storage stacks on top to give you a tasty total of 19GB. Lovely, lovely stuff.

All you have to do to grab your 2GB freebie is head over to your Google Account Settings and take a couple of minutes to check all your security settings. That means making sure your recovery phone number and email address are correct; checking your recent security events all look kosher; and having a quick look through your list of connected devices and apps. Not very taxing, all things considered. You could even change that unsecure password of yours while you’re at it.

Oh, and if you’re reading this and it’s no longer 9 February: DON’T PANIC. The ever-magnanimous Google has extended the free storage offer so that you can grab the freebie until 17 February. Just make sure to click here and get around to it before then.
