If you want to create a new Gmail account, Google may ask you for a phone number verification. This was optional in the past, but recently Google has made it mandatory. If you don’t want Google to have it, or maybe you’re just not into sharing your phone number, you’re probably looking for another way to create an account that will keep your phone number off the google grid.

Luckily for you, there are still many ways to bypass this and create a new Gmail without using your phone number. So, if, for some reason, you don’t want to enter your phone number, you may use one of these solutions.
Keep in mind that we tested these methods in July of 2022, and we were able to create Gmail accounts without phone numbers.
How Can I Create a Gmail Account Without Verification?
There are multiple ways you can create a Gmail account without verification. One of the easiest ways to do this is through the Gmail app because no matter how you sign up, you can opt out of giving a phone number for verification. Another way is to input your age as 15, as Gmail will assume you don’t have your own phone number yet.
Keep in mind that although these steps do work, sometimes, when you sign in to another computer or if you sign in for a second time, the app will ask you for your phone number. To avoid this, add another email for verification before you sign in again, so it can ask for that email. Add another email with the age being 15 – and you’re good to go!
When all else fails, you can use a phone number duping software. This way, Gmail has a phone number that isn’t yours.
Below are the steps you can use to sign up for Gmail without a phone number.
Create a Gmail on Your Android or IOS Device
If you have an Android or iPhone device, you can create a new Gmail account via the Settings app. This way, you can bypass Google asking you for your phone number.
For iOS:
- Go to the Settings app from the home screen.
- Find the Mail section.
- Tap on Accounts.
- Select Add Account.
- Tap Google.
- Tap on Create Account.
- Follow the prompts and input your information. When it asks for your phone number, scroll down and hit skip.
- After that, it will ask you to review your account info. Check and make sure that everything is how you want it, and then tap next.
- Lastly, accept the terms and conditions.
For Android:
While the steps for Android users are quite tedious, the process does give you the option to Skip adding your phone number during account creation. Here’s what to do:
Note: The steps through the settings may vary depending on your phone’s manufacturer. If you get stuck, tap the search icon and type ‘Accounts.’
- Open the Settings on your Android device and tap on Accounts. Some users may see Accounts & Backups.
- Tap on Manage Accounts if the option appears. Otherwise, skip to step 3.
- Scroll down and tap Add Account.
- Select Google.
- Tap Create Account.
- Enter your name. Then, enter your birth date and gender. Then, click Next.
Note: During our tests in July of 2022, we used the year 2007 to make the age 15 (see section below for explanation).
- You will now see the Add a Phone Number page. Scroll to the bottom.
- Tap Skip to bypass inputting a phone number.
- Accept the Terms & Conditions. Then, tap Next to complete the set up.
Now, your new Google account with no phone number will appear in your device’s Account Settings.
After this, you won’t have to add any further information. You can use your new email, and you won’t need to verify any phone numbers.
Set Your Age to 15
This is another useful trick to bypass phone verification. If you’re 15 years or younger, Google would assume that you still don’t have a cell phone of your own. You’ll just have to set up a different birth year. To do so, you should:
NOTE: This option will only work if you sign out of your other Gmail accounts. If you don’t, it won’t ask for your birthday and assume your birthday is the same as your previous emails. You could also use another browser.
- Open your browser.
- Go to Gmail.
- Click on the Create account option at the bottom of the screen.
- Choose For Myself or For Business.
- Enter your account information and a new email address and click Next.
- Set your birth year to 15 years before the current. For example, if it’s 2022, you should set your birth year to 2006/2007.
- Leave the mobile phone bar blank and click Next.
- Agree to terms and conditions.
Note: If you see the screen asking for your phone number with no way around it, you don’t need to enter anything in the field. Instead, populate a secondary email address, add your birthday, and click the option to continue.
This does work, but make sure you keep your age under 18, or they may ask you for a phone number in the future. Also, if you want to add a security option like another email, create another email where you’re under 15 and add that one instead.
Use a Dummy Number
A dummy number is an online service you can use to verify your accounts via mobile number. You can use one of the phone numbers from these websites instead of your own.
Then, Gmail will send a verifying key to this number, and you’ll be able to read it and type it in.

Keep in mind that you’ll be able to use this phone number just once. So, if you set your phone number as your only recovery option, you might permanently lose your email account.
Can you use the Same Phone Number for Multiple Gmail Accounts?
Yes. If you’re signing up with a real number, you can use it multiple times to sign up for different Gmail accounts. If you are using one of the spoofed tactics we’ve listed above, you may not be able to use that phone number multiple times.
Troubleshooting
Although adding your phone number to your Gmail account has several benefits, if you’re having issues with the above-listed steps, there are a few things to consider trying.
Assuming you have a phone number but you don’t want it attached to your Gmail, you can remove it in the settings once the account is set up.
- Visit your account settings and click on your profile icon in the upper right-hand corner. Click Manage Your Google Account, then click Personal Info located on the left-hand side. Once there, you can click the trash can and remove your phone number.
Ensure your name and username are legitimate.
- Google introduced phone number verification to keep robots and spammers from creating accounts. If you’re using Imarobot123 as a username, the above-listed tactics may not work.
Ensure that you are following the above-listed steps.
- Many users have reported that these methods are not working for them. It may be as simple as scrolling down and selecting Skip from the phone number page.
Adding your phone number to your Gmail account adds security, and Google doesn’t sell your personal information. If you don’t have a phone number or you don’t want to use yours, these options will work for you.

Next, based on our tests, we had trouble creating the account with a VPN. An active VPN can make Google think you’re a bot and, therefore, prevent you from creating the account.

The under 15 thing is not only bullshit but illegal.
So this has either changed since you claimed this your method had been tested just 13 days ago or this is click bait.

Simply fill out Name, desired email address, password, and birthdate, gender.
If you try to go to next step, it will not let you and tell you to put in a phone number. It will automatically have part of a number in the field already. For USA it is +1. This is the country calling code, for the region/country you live in/are making the account in.
To create the account without email, simply delete that number from the text field/form leaving it completely blank, and click to go to next step. If both the “recovery email” and “phone number” fields are completely blank, it will allow you to proceed. After that you finalize your account and you are done!
Google is trying to hide the option to create an account without using another email or phone number, by auto populating the country calling code in the phone number field(which then counts as a incomplete phone number and prevents you from proceeding).

Thats done prob through using it as a unique identifier. Also through all the offline data that these companies admit to buy to put together with their own data on you. It was always a known thing but they list it now in the cookie policy popups under stuff we can do that u alread agreed to that u have no option over. Its explicitly stated on all sites where i’ve bothered to read that they all do that buying and trading of offline data to mix with the data they have on you. Clearly the phone number makes that either easier or possible to begin with. Address and phone number seem to be the easiest way to correlate online and offline data.
So the very abbreviated comment they make regarding using ur phone for advertising purposes invalidates ur paragraphs stating they aren’t using it for such purposes, they are.
Only have that one account, unsure how you can create two accounts without a phone number if google are going to ask for it and when one is not entered; access is refused.
Go to one google app and signup from there or from settings as step no1 this works fine.
And use convincing names
Maybe you just choose suspicious name. I wanted to create new account without my real name for better privacy. I try to create email “[email protected]” and it was always asking for phone number.
When i tried to use some more real sounfing name than it was working fine, somethin like “Nicholas.Kilmanajro” was working without problems.
